[edit] Chicken Spice
Useful for when chicken isn't laying, whilst moulting and as a general pick-me-up. Chicken spice is in fact a mineral supplement to keep your chickens in tiptop condition. You might give this to your chicken if it is moulting or to help it maintain a good appetite in winter. You give 1/4 teaspoon of per 2 chickens. Chicken spice also goes by the name of poultry spice.
[edit] Red Mite Powder
If your chicken is suffering from mites because symptoms of a pale comb, listless behaviour, quite common in summer, check under roosting bars for dark red spots. Keeping your eglu clean is the best way to keep red mites away, however this is simple solution to getting rid of them if they occur. Red mites are nocturnal creatures so it is best to treat your chicken just before they go to sleep. It is a 100% natural, non-toxic and non-irritant for you chickens and is suitable for organic chickens.

Useful for when chicken isn't laying, during moult and as a general pick-me-up. Similar to poultry spice this is a mineral supplement for your chickens. It will give them a boost while they are going through a moult or during the colder months of the year. Add 2ml of this tonic to each litre of drinking water for 2 chickens.

Can help to neutralise smell of droppings. Garlic has been used since ancient times for its wide-ranging beneficial properties. It can neutralise the droppings and help keep your chickens in tip-top conditions. You mix about 1 tablespoon with each refill of the feeder. Be careful not to add too much otherwise the smell inside Eglu can get a bit overpowering!

General Conditioner Our Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is produced the old fashion way and is full of goodness. You can give your chickens 1/4 tsp per drinker and it will aid digestion and help them keep their feathers in good condition. Like the Citricidal you can also use it for cleaning your eglu too.

Useful for treating colds. Extract of grapefruit seed has been tested and validated by the FDA and Pasteur Institute in France it has been used for many years as a natural anti-viral to cure colds. You simply add one or two drops to a pint of water. It is a good anti-bacterial and can be used diluted to clean the eglu too! Safe for human use.
[edit] Mixed Chicken Grit
Soft shelled eggs. Chickens don't have any teeth so in order to extract maximum goodness from the food they eat they need grit. Not just any old grit either, a hard sharp flint is best of about 3-5mm diameter (like the ones used in stone age dentistry). This handy tub of mixed grit also contains soluble calcium (in the form of oyster and other sea shells) which will ensure your hens only lay the robust egg shells like the ones your grandfather has probably told you about. This tub would last two hens a couple of months, just add a handful to the feed once a week.

Diatomaceous Earth is a fine white powder made of the ground up fossilized remains of diatoms (a type of algae). It’s 100% natural and it works because at a microscopic level the powder is very absorbent and effectively dehydrates parasites it comes into contact with causing them to shrivel up and expire. It can be used to control both internal and external parasites. Diatomaceous Earth can be used in your chickens dust bath if you suspect they have lice or mites. It can also be mixed with their feed - a good tip is to add a bit of vegetable oil to the layers pellets before mixing the powder in as it makes it stick to the pellets. Diatomaceous Earth is an approved E.U. Feed Additive (Silicon Dioxide) E551C and has been used for over 25 years for controlling parasites naturally.

Treats worms and other internal parasites. Worms can sometimes be seen in droppings. Another sign is no eggs and lethargic behaviour. Looks like pellets, easy to administer.
