This disease is considered the most contagious poultry disease known! The disease is spread by air, feed bags, infected dead birds, infected houses, and rodents. Infected birds excrete the virus in the feces for several weeks following their own recovery.Infection can be up to 100% of the whole flock. The severity is influenced the health and condition of the birds before hand.

Not wanting to eat or drink, chilling, chirping, watery discharge in eyes and nostrils, laboured breathing with

gasping in young chicks.

There is no specific treatment for this illness, though antibiotics are given for 3-5 days and may help in stopping a secondary bacterial infection. Increase room temps keep chickens in a good hygienic state..
