Kate's Egg and Bacon Pie

[edit] Ingredients

  • Shortcrust pastry case made with 6oz flour, 3 oz butter and 3 tbsp water
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3-4 rashers of smoked bacon, chopped and fried gently until cooked
  • 1/4 pint milk
  • pinch mustard powder
  • salt and pepper
  • Optional - chopped chives are nice in it too

  • Fry bacon gently till cooked.
  • Make pastry and line tin
  • Put the bacon in the base of the uncooked pastry case.
  • Beat the eggs with the milk, mustard powder, seasoning and chopped chives if used.
  • Pour into pastry case.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180C.
