This disease affect adult birds. The disease can be transmitted in many ways. The virus can be passed out of the body of infected birds via eggs and feces. It may be transmitted from infected birds by blood-sucking parasites or by man in procedures for fowl pox vaccination. The disease causes tumors in the liver and spleen and can also cause them to be around the ovary and lungs.

Chickens will show a slow loss of appetite and diarrhea followed usually by sudden death.

There is no medication for this disease, but by controlling blood sucking insects and keeping housing clean and not mixing old and young birds will help prevent the disease.
