The OmletPlanetBot

The OmletPlanetBot is the workhorse behind Planet Omlet.

It is a server-side script written in PHP and runs once every 15 minutes, collecting new entries from the submitted RSS feeds, formatting them for display on Planet Omlet. It does this by re-formatting the HTML and removing unwanted JavaScript and CSS.

Just like other bots the OmletPlanetBot identifies itself to web servers by means of a unique user-agent so that you can easily find in your servers logs. The current user-agent string is:

OmletPlanetBot/1.0 (+http://club.omlet.co.uk/planet/)
